WHAT'S BREWING THIS MONTH?
This September, we're holding onto the last taste of summer with Bukonzo Dream. Grown high in Uganda's Rwenzori Mountains and naturally processed to bring out its wonderfully fruity character, this is a bright, juicy coffee packed with berries, florals and citrus.
It's a Perky Blenders favourite, returning for the third time in four years, and one we always look forward to welcoming back.

MORE ABOUT THE COFFEE
September brings back an old favourite: Bukonzo Dream, a wonderfully fruity natural coffee from the Rwenzori Mountains of Uganda.
Our Coffee of the Month series gives us the opportunity to explore wonderfully diverse coffees from around the world while shining a light on the growers and communities behind each cup.
This month's coffee comes to us through our friends at Omwani, specialists in sourcing exceptional East African coffees, and their partners Agri Evolve, who work directly with coffee-growing communities across the Rwenzori region.
Bukonzo Dream is about far more than great-tasting coffee. Its story is one of relationships, trust and a different approach to coffee production in this remarkable part of Uganda.
UGANDA - RWENZORI MOUNTAINS
Rising along Uganda's western border, the Rwenzori Mountains are home to the Bakonzo people, communities who have farmed the steep, fertile slopes of this extraordinary landscape for generations.
When Agri Evolve first began working in the region, one of its biggest challenges was building trust with local coffee farmers.
Traditionally, farmers would process their coffee themselves before selling it as DRUGAR, or Dried Uganda Arabica. Agri Evolve wanted to introduce a different approach: buying freshly harvested coffee cherries directly from farmers and carrying out the processing at its own facilities.
Doing this would allow greater control over processing and ultimately the quality and consistency of the finished coffee, but it could only happen by developing strong relationships with the people growing it.
Agri Evolve began working closely with prominent members of the local coffee-growing communities, building the trust needed for farmers to sell their freshly picked cherries directly to them.
Those communities are predominantly part of the Bakonzo tribe, and it is in recognition of the people behind the coffee that Bukonzo Dream takes its name.
Quite simply, without the Bakonzo people, there would be no Bukonzo Dream.
THE FLAVOUR PROFILE
Expect a bright and juicy cup filled with:
Summer Berries - Hibiscus - Pink Lemonade
Even before brewing, the dry aroma gives you a hint of what's to come, with bright hibiscus, citrus and a sweet red-fruit character.
Take your first sip and you'll find a medley of summer berries: think strawberries and raspberries with a little juicy cherry thrown in too. As the cup develops, a light lemony acidity appears on the finish, reminding us of a refreshing glass of pink lemonade.
It's fruity, floral, refreshing and just a little bit funky.
Exactly the sort of coffee we want when we're not quite ready to say goodbye to summer.
