This natural reserve extends for more than 200 hectares and is located close to El Limo, a mountain range which goes from east to west.

The climate in this region tends to be warm and the farms are surrounded by green mountains with a good organic material in the soil. The shade of guabo plants and porotillo trees in the farms creates excellent coffee growing conditions.

On the farms, whole families work together. Typically, the women will oversee the coffee production, while men work alongside in construction or cattle rearing. Many families also keep bees for an additional income, which helps with the pollination of the coffee plants on the farms.

This lot displays very sweet, fruity and floral characteristics, you can taste an incredibly juicy mix of fruits such as mango, grapefruit, mandarine or starfruit. The vibrant tropical undertones followed by green tea-like long finish leaves an elegant and brandy-like mouthfeel.

To complement the blend, we sourced a second component from the farm Sangre de Grado situated in the region of Cajamarca in Peru. The young farmer Homar Duzan has been involved in coffee since he was a child, and is now fully working along with his parents at the coffee plantation.

With the massive support of his brother - an agronomic engineer - the coffee quality has been impressively improving. Recently, Homar took the decision to focus on producing high quality coffees and we’re very pleased to present one of them.

This washed varietal blend of caturra, catimor and bourbon have a complex flavour profile characterised by notes of red and purple fruits such as plums, black cherries and dates, with vibrant malic acidity.

These beans add an unmistakable elegant touch with delicate red grape notes, complementing the fine juiciness of tropical fruits and green tea sweetness, so distinctive of Ecuadorian coffee.
