Every month we introduce a new coffee.

We do this to shine a light on a specific grower and to explore the dizzying diversity of coffees produced around the world. Choose subscribe to get a different coffee every month, specially selected by our expert roasters.

This month is particularly special, a collaboration with our friends at Bike Club. The summer holidays are long, and we've worked with them on a special summer survival pack to keep everyone going throughout August. Fueled, of course, by this brilliant new coffee, dubbed Bike Club Brew.

Bike Club is one of those ideas you wish you'd thought of: kids bikes delivered directly to your door, exchanging for bigger bikes when they grow.

We've got a special deal for all Perky Blenders customers, get your first month for free with the code PerkyBike. Check it out here.

About the coffee:

Our August Coffee of the Month is from one of the most celebrated coffee growing country in the world, Ethiopia. Yes ma'am, the birthplace of coffee itself.

The arrival of the new crop from Ethiopia is (surely) every coffee lovers favourite time of year and we are delighted to showcase our first one this year as a Coffee of the Month. This coffee is a blend* of cherries produced by a collective of over 300 small scale farmers from the Guji area in the southern part of the country and processed by a local washing station, Hambela Dhekbor. In the cup, this coffee displays very floral aromatics and we're getting lots of citrus and tropical fruit flavours all wrapped up in a sweet and creamy texture. A great companion for the end of the summer season!

What does 'Heirloom' mean?

*Heirloom varietal is an umbrella term that is a testament to the unbelievable genetic diversity in Ethiopia. In most cases, it means a mix of varieties developed by the Ethiopian Agricultural research centre (about 40 of them) and then there are "regional landraces" that are varieties that have naturally evolved in nature. Some say there could be as many as 10,000 of them...
